We call our approach DIAL — Direct Implementation at Location. Rather than working through layers of intermediaries, we implement relief projects ourselves, on the ground, so that help reaches people faster and more efficiently. Every project is fully funded before it begins, so we can act with confidence and without financial risk.

Lighthouse Thrift is where our mission comes to life on the high street. Our stores sell quality secondhand goods — clothing, homeware, electronics, and more — donated by generous individuals and businesses. Every purchase funds our operations and our relief projects, and every donation keeps good items out of the landfill.

We are registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK 42055144, RSIN 869501951) and has an ANBI (Public Benefit Organisation) status application in progress. At least 90% of our income goes to our relief projects. Our annual report, financial statements, and policy plan would be publicly published. Our board members work without remuneration 

Lighthouse Circularity Foundation is a Dutch foundation established to operate as an international non-profit organization focused on disaster relief and poverty reduction. 

Our work also focuses on reducing waste by keeping useful household goods and materials in circulation and using these resources to support people experiencing poverty, crisis and difficult circumstances.

Our approach connects circularity with social impact: resources that might otherwise become waste can be redirected toward people and communities who need them.

The Foundation is governed by a board of directors. According to our current KVK registration, the board consists of:

Soedhierkoemar Mangre serves as President of the Foundation.

Arda Kaplan — Treasurer
Arda Kaplan serves as Treasurer and is responsible for supporting responsible financial oversight.

Rowena Kimkoemarie Sardjoe — Secretary

Rowena Kimkoemarie Sardjoe serves as Secretary and supports the Foundation's governance, administration and organizational affairs.

The directors of Lighthouse Circularity Foundation do not receive salaries, director fees or other remuneration for serving on the board.

The Foundation is committed to keeping governance and administrative costs as low as reasonably possible so that available resources can be directed toward its mission and impact.

The KVK registration records the directors as jointly authorized, in accordance with the Foundation's statutes. KVK guidance confirms that foundations must register their directors and report changes to the Handelsregister.

Our financial commitment is simple:

These activities include initiatives that contribute to our two core objectives: reducing waste and supporting people experiencing poverty or crisis through the responsible redistribution and reuse of available resources.

The remaining resources are used for necessary operational, administrative, compliance, fundraising and infrastructure costs required to operate the Foundation responsibly.

Lighthouse Circularity Foundation is committed to publishing its financial accounts annually.

Our annual financial reporting will provide transparency regarding the Foundation's income, expenditure and use of resources, allowing supporters, donors, volunteers, partners and the wider public to understand how funds are being managed.

As the Foundation develops, we intend to provide increasing detail on our projects, resources raised, expenditure and social and environmental impact.

We will communicate our financial performance transparently through our annual financial reporting.

Lighthouse Circularity Foundation is an ANBI (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling / Public Benefit Organisation) in the Netherlands. 

The ANBI status was granted to the foundation by the Netherlands tax office (Belastingdienst) on May 7, 2026

ANBI status gives tax advantage to the foundation and to our donors. It shows donations are tax-deductible and confirms the charity meets strict transparency standards. The ANBI status further help us with all public/community projects to attract more funding and support

Lighthouse Circularity Foundation operates on a volunteer-based model. 

Our objective is to accomplish as much of our mission as possible through people who voluntarily contribute their time, knowledge, skills and experience.

This model helps us maintain a lean cost structure and allows more of the Foundation's available resources to be directed toward impact.

Our directors serve without remuneration, and volunteers are an essential part of delivering our programmes and activities.

The Foundation operates according to a policy framework designed to guide its activities, governance, financial management and social and environmental objectives.

Our policy priorities include:

Reducing waste by promoting reuse, recycling, redistribution and the continued circulation of household goods.

Supporting people in crisis and poverty by directing donations to individuals and communities who can benefit from them.

Building circular communities by encouraging people to donate, reuse, recycle and participate in practical circular-economy initiatives.

Mobilising volunteers by creating opportunities for people to contribute their skills and time to the Foundation's objectives.

Maintaining responsible governance through transparent decision-making, financial oversight and accountability.

Maximising impact by maintaining a strong focus on directing resources toward projects that advance the Foundation's objectives.
